Robert M. (Bob) Bryniak is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Sands Management (Marketing) Consulting (GSMC), a United Arab Emirate based company, specializing in various aspects of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and providing strategic investment & management advice to public and private companies in the energy, water, wastewater, environment, oil and gas and engineering related sectors. Prior to establishing GSMC, Bob was the first Chief Executive Officer of Palm Water LLC, with head offices in Dubai, UAE where he was involved in developing water and waste water projects based on the PPP structure. Prior to joining Palm Water, Bob was the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company, SAOC (“Oman PWP. As the Company’s first CEO, Bob was responsible for long term electricity demand forecasting, long term capacity planning, procuring new capacity, and contracting with generators for new electricity and related water capacity while overseeing a number of Independent Power Projects (IPPs) and Independent Water and Power Projects (IWPPs), along with a fully integrated power concession agreement. Before coming to the Middle East in 2003, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of a publicly listed environmental Company trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange. During his 3 years at the helm, he managed to turnaround the business, close the company’s first major sale and increase the stock price over 15 fold. Prior to that, Bob was a senior executive at Ontario Power Generation (previously Ontario Hydro), one of the largest public utilities in North America. He joined the Company after obtaining his Master of Arts Degree (Economics) from Windsor University and an Honour Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University. Bob also taught economics and advance finance at various universities. He also delivers seminars covering various aspects of public private partnerships. More recently, Bob has worked in the utility and oil and gas sectors in Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and has had first hand experience in establishing new businesses in the Gulf and in restructuring the electricity and water sectors, with a particular focus on public private partnerships. He has also had extensive experience undertaking business assessments and valuations along with preparing tendering documents and managing the tendering process for various companies in the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in coaching CEOs and other senior executives, and has been heavily involved in human resource matters. He also has first-hand experience managing disputes in the power and water sector. In total, Bob Bryniak has been involved with about 50 disputes, with most of these in the Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In doing so, he has represented both the Procurer or Utility and the Project Company on various disputes. On others, he represented and/or supported the EPC Contractor. Bob has been a member of several Boards and is presently Chairman of an Engineering Company in Canada. He is also a Board member of The Water Company, a newly formed entity operating in the Netherlands
