With over 14 years of experience working in three continents, Tanzeed has promoted positive change on climate change, energy and environmental conservation efforts within government, industry, businesses and communities. Tanzeed is optimistic that positive change is possible on these issues and as Managing Director of Earth Matters Consulting, his firm specialises on strategy, policy and communications advisory services on climate change and sustainability. Current clients include UAE government bodies, major international consultancies, industry and a major international non-governmental organisation. For the last ten years, Tanzeed directed the Climate Change & Energy work of the World-Wide Fund for Nature’s activities in the UAE and GCC region, building effective partnerships and introducing government policy on climate change, energy efficiency and the ecological footprint. Tanzeed also designed and led a seminal verified carbon reduction programme for UAE businesses. As an experienced grass roots campaigner, Tanzeed has led an award-winning campaign ‘Heroes of the UAE’ designed to promote sustainable lifestyles in local communities, schools and universities. Tanzeed also regularly worked with the global WWF network and other international NGOs in the United Nations Climate Change and IRENA conferences, bringing an in-depth understanding on the voice and role played by diverse stakeholders in environmental issues, as well as their expectations of industry.

From 2005-08, Tanzeed was Science Policy Advisor at the UK’s independent scientific academy, the Royal Society. He worked with world-leading and Nobel-prize winning scientists, economists and social scientists to publish a series of policy reports on international climate change, sustainable biofuels for transportation, nuclear and radioactive waste management. Tanzeed also has experience working as a consultant in the UK (Carbon Sense Ltd), helping businesses make climate change a core part of their strategic model. Educating and building capacity on environment and sustainability issues in different communities is also close to Tanzeed’s heart and is a topic he has worked on since 2003 in Latin America, Europe and the Middle-East. With a post graduate MSc in Conservation from University College London and BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh, Tanzeed is an experienced leader and manager, who is well networked with Ministers, CEOs, senior management in key ministries and businesses.
